Pushing The Process can Prevent You from Getting What You Want

Huh??? Sounds like a contradiction here!  We constantly hear that we should define what we want … and envisioning and clearly defining what we want is an important first step.  It is the beginning of the creative process and it sets unseen powers and processes into motion to manifest our intentions and desires.

From Cusco by Diane Dunn:

“But just as a seed requires a period of gestation and unseen (underground) growth, your desire also also needs time and space to manifest. There are many conditions – both helpful and adverse – that will contribute to the possiblity of the seed coming to full flower. Some you can control and some you cannot. This is also true for your intention. Sometimes if you push too hard to make something happen before its time – like the farmer pulling on the new shoots to make them grow faster, your actions might have an adverse effect.  You don’t always know the best way to make your intention a reality but if you believe that there is a power higher than your own (divine energy) that is assisting you, then it is better to give yourself a little room for that energy to work on your behalf. Maybe there is a way you hadn’t thought of that might work better than the one you are pushing to make happen. To want something is a very important part of the process but wanting something is not the same as forcing it into existence through the power of your will.  In Spanish the word Querer means both to want and to love.”

Try this: Set your intention and let if free to grow in its own time and own way.  Have faith in the process and watch expectantly for it to manifest. Take actions to promote what you want but also love it enough to let it move in its own way.”

Excerpt above from Diane Dunn’s book:  Cusco, The Gateway to Inner Wisdom. Diane is the founder and owner of Paz y Luz Healing and Conference Center in Peru.  www.pazyluzperu.com

This is the power of intention combined with the law of detachment.  We must set our intentions free and detach from the way we “think” they should manifest, or from attempting to “force them” in a certain way.  When things don’t seem to be happening the way we think – or we notice resistance to our “forcing them” to happen then take note – it is not wise to argue with the Universe!  These are generally signs that we need to adjust &/or allow and “notice”.   Remember our journey to our destination is rarely in a “straight line” and recall our friend’s reminder of the astronauts actually being “off course” 95% of the time in their journey to the moon and it is only in that last bit of the journey that they are right on their target.
